7th Grade Math

In 7th grade Pre-Algebra, we are growing in our knowledge of geometric shapes. This chapter includes area of simple and complex figures, volume of simple and complex figures, surface area, and comparing solids. These students amaze me each day that they come in and tackle each new lesson. This chapter is very hard and very complex, especially since geometry is something completely new to most of the them. The amount of formulas and figures they have to memorize is proving a challenge for all of them. This level of geometry is readying them for next year and beyond and they are getting better and better each day.

Coming up, we are getting back to the algebra side of math and beginning more complex algebraic equations. Using their previous knowledge of algebraic equations, I am sure that they will do very well on the coming chapters. Based on the level of difficulty that chapter 7 provided, I think that it will be a pleasant retreat back to the world of algebra.
