8th Grade Math

In 8th grade Pre-Algebra, we are laying the foundation for a successful year in Algebra 1 next year. We have started using everything we have done throughout the year and plugging it in to more algebra related materials. The students are seeing how something as simple as solving for a variable can be crucial to graphing linear equations.

We are spending a lot of time in this chapter to ensure that they are grounded in a strong foundation for when they begin algebra. The students are showing improvements in every aspect, including neatness of graphs, showing of their work, and properly correcting themselves when they miss a problem. They are starting to see that neatness and showing work makes things easier for themselves in the long run.

As we move along, I am very happy to see the students grasping the concepts. I believe that mastering this chapter will make for some great mathematicians in high school!
