Eighth grade Bible this year has been quite an adventure. As we have been working through Acts with this new group of 8th graders, we have seen all the miraculous things that God has done in starting His church. Everything from the Pentecost miracles, to the healing of crippled beggars and Ananias and Sapphira being struck down for selfishness has really made the students look differently at the book of Acts.
In addition to the book of Acts, we have had a lot of world events to discuss and bring into a Christian focus. As our world becomes a battleground of spiritual warfare, it is important for the students to understand, follow, and work through how to deal with current events. Due to the influx of major events happening in our world, we have set some time aside to discuss how these events effect us as Americans and as Christians. It has truly been a blessing to see them grow in their Christian worldviews and show their support of those effected by these events.
As we draw closer to the end of the year and graduation, we will be starting to memorize our graduation verses in a few weeks. This is a very hard thing to memorize, as it is the culmination of the all of the years memory verses! Practice, practice, practice is the key!
